Knowing in-house production would give us greater control of product quality and supply chain management, we began by establishing a small 15 person factory in Shanghai, China, in 2004, which soon expanded to 65 employees by 2009. Spurred on by our founding ambitions, we set up a pilot plant with a small team of staff in Siem Reap, Cambodia, in 2010 and by 2014 we built and opened our own factory. Another factory then opened in Phnom Penh in 2016, focusing on sportswear manufacturing. Today, our facilities in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh employ full-time Cambodian and International staff, bringing our total workforce to 600+ employees. Both facilities are SA8000 certified and ISO9001 certified. Not only did operating in Cambodia allow us to provide jobs to an economically deprived community, it also gave us the opportunity to build our own cutting-edge, sustainable work space which caters to the needs of both our people and our planet by: Minimizing our business and employees’ impact on the climate by combining sustainable practices with architecturally cutting-edge work spaces. Bringing the factory to the people: building a factory in a city to avoid employees to travel to work and keeping them in their social structures. Having on-site child daycare facility with trained child care staff for employees to have a comfortable place to bring their children for free. Providing our people with health and accident insurance, daily healthy lunches, and subsidized motorcycle helmets for safe travel.
