Lotus Silk Farm (LSF) is a Siem Reap-based producer of lotus silk, a natural microfibre hand-extracted from lotus stems, and a recipient of the UNESCO Award of Excellence. The company operates across three complementary areas: - Artisanal textile production: Production of lotus, lotus-silk, and lotus-cotton fabrics, garments, and accessories, including supply to luxury brands such as Loro Piana. - Sustainable tourism: Guided visits, lake boat experiences, craft workshops, and the Sunset Monk evening experience. The farm reports welcoming approximately 4,000 visitors per month and collaborating with nine luxury hotels. - Maison Lotus: A boutique and showroom on Pithnou Street presenting lotus textiles, natural cosmetics, and perfumes. Through the Proudly Khmer Foundation, the company is also developing the Institut Khmer des Métiers d'Excellence (IKME) to support the training of a new generation of Cambodian artisans. Lotus Silk Farm traces its origins to Samatoa Lotus Textiles, founded in 2004 by Awen Delaval, a French-Breton entrepreneur with more than 22 years of experience in Cambodia. The company pioneered lotus fibre extraction and received the UNESCO Award of Excellence in 2012, alongside other national and international recognitions. The business was relaunched as Lotus Silk Farm in 2020 and introduced an antibacterial lotus microfibre mask, which the company reports was tested at more than 99% antibacterial effectiveness by a Korean textile institute. The current entity was registered in June 2025 under Farm Manager Sokhana. Lotus Silk Farm's mission is to preserve and elevate Cambodian craftsmanship, create dignified rural employment, and demonstrate how luxury production and sustainability can develop together. The company reports working with more than 200 artisans, with a management team composed predominantly of Cambodian women aged 22–40.
